About Sarah

I’m Sarah Mason, a creative marketing strategist, content producer, and community builder based in Portland, Oregon.

For the last decade, I’ve helped brands, events, startups, nonprofits, restaurants, venues, media companies, and creative teams figure out what they’re trying to say and how to get people to care.

My work started in journalism, where I learned how to find the story fast, ask better questions, and make people feel something. In 2015, I was recognized as one of Oregon’s top emerging journalists, and that foundation still shapes everything I do.

From there, I moved through media sales, digital strategy, event marketing, and eventually built my own independent marketing practice. That path gave me a weirdly useful mix of skills: I can find the story, sell the idea, build the campaign, write the copy, organize the moving parts, and keep the whole thing from flying off the rails.

I’ve worked on music festivals, motorcycle shows, restaurant technology, real estate SaaS, nonprofit campaigns, vintage fashion, live music, ice skating, podcast festivals, cannabis competitions, and enough social media calendars to last several lifetimes.

At my best, I’m helping bring a big creative vision down to earth without killing the magic. I like work that has a pulse: culture, community, food, music, movement, nature, design, local businesses, strange ideas, and people making something because they actually care.

What I’m Known For

Turning chaos into clarity.

Finding the emotional hook.

Writing copy that sounds like a human.

Making sponsor content feel natural.

Helping events feel alive before anyone walks through the door.

Building content systems that people can actually use.

Holding the big picture and the tiny details at the same time.

Bringing taste, urgency, intuition, and organization to creative work.

Where I Fit Best

I’m a strong fit for brands, events, founders, and creative teams that need someone who can think strategically, write clearly, move quickly, manage complexity, and keep the work feeling human.

I especially love projects rooted in live experiences, local culture, food, music, design, hospitality, movement, wellness, nature, community, and creative independence.

When I’m not working, I’m usually cooking, walking, swimming, practicing yoga, watching interviews, collaging and collecting visual references, or following a creative rabbit hole somewhere interesting.
